Professional Experience

Michael Newhall has served as the Vice President, Business and Community Development since he joined Sentinel Benefits & Financial Group in 2014. In this role Michael has been responsible for creating and expanding “Sentinel Cares,” our Corporate Social Responsibility program. Sentinel Cares has been recognized by the Boston Business Journal, Invest in Others Foundation and the New England Employee Benefits Council for creative employee engagement, philanthropy and community partnerships. Michael’s commitment to our mission and efforts promoting Sentinel’s unique capabilities and service model has helped him provide numerous opportunities for the company to create new business introductions and partnerships.  

Prior to joining Sentinel, Michael served in senior leadership roles with nonprofit organizations for nearly 30 years, most recently as Associate Headmaster at St. John’s Preparatory School. He helped establish the John A. Carnevale Scholarship at the school and serves on the advisory committee for the Prep to Pro Internship Program and the annual golf outing at the school which now supports the scholarship. He also serves as an advisor on the development committee for HAWC in Salem, the corporate partners committee at Cristo Rey High School in Lawrence, Team Impact in Quincy and the Children’s Hospital Corporate Cup.
